Fernand Guevara Mekongo Mballa specializes in public policy, regional integration, and sustainable development. An experienced Independent Project Manager, he has a demonstrated history of work in the public policy, nonprofit, and government sectors, with expertise spanning international relations, management, editing, and human rights advocacy. Fernand currently serves as a Mentor at the Tony Elumelu Foundation, empowering young African entrepreneurs, and as a Selector for the Ellison Scholars Programme (Oxford University-affiliated) and RISE for the World, supporting youth innovation across 90 countries. He is also a Member of the Sabin Center Network of Rapporteurs on Climate Change at Columbia University, where he contributes to research on environmental governance and climate policy.
Previously, he served as a Mentor for Cameroon at the Yale Young African Scholars Program (2018–2021) and has published in the Journal of Law and Emerging Technologies. As a scholar, he has authored multiple book chapters, including “Asynchronous Regional Integration in Central Africa: Progress and Challenges” in Lessons from Regional Responses to Security, Health and Environmental Challenges in Latin America (Vernon Press, 2024).
